Google Buys DoubleClick for $3.1 Billion
“Google reached an agreement today to acquire DoubleClick, the online advertising company, from two private equity firms for $3.1 billion in cash, the companies announced, an amount that was almost double the $1.65 billion in stock that Google paid for YouTube late last year.”
Goggles – The Google Maps flight sim
Goggles is a flash-based flight sim that uses Google Maps to let you fly over major cities and have a good look round. You can even customise your start location if you’re a bit techy – try flying over Blackpool! (Just hit Start without selecting a location).
Google launches a Finance site
Google Finance has a few features that outshine that of Yahoo Finance, such as interactive stock charts and better linking of stories to stock value changes. It certainly has potential.
