Stolen laptops hand hackers keys to the kingdom

Laptops have been a hot target for thieves for a while, but recently the emphasis has been changing from random thefts (to make money reselling the hardware) to targetted attacks planned to gain access to the data on the hard drive. Now The Register reports on an InfoSec presentation by SecureTest that goes one step further – the theft of laptops to lift user credentials from the drive to perpetrate further penetration into the corporate network.
